Fitness Goals for the Fall Season
Fitness Goals for the Fall Season
Cozy up with your favorite mug and drink, we’re preparing to set your intentions for the upcoming season.
Who says you have to wait until the new year to make goals? It’s always the right time to jumpstart your goals and resolutions, but if you’re looking for a sign or push, Fall weather is just around the corner. As the leaves start to turn shades of brown, red and orange, how are you planning on evolving with them?
For a clear and focused mind, it’s wise to begin with moving your body before settling into goal-setting mode. Try flowing through a yoga class or taking your dog on a walk, and then meet back in a comfortable, quiet space with a paper and pen in hand.
Values
Brain dump all your core values. Fill the page, onto the back, whatever you need. Some examples include compassion, honesty, devotion, collaboration, balance, love, family, empathy…you get the picture. What resonates in the deepest part of your being? Let is all fall here. You want to be in a receptive, open-minded, grounded space during this first step, that’s why exercising beforehand is highly recommended.
Set Your Intentions
Use these four categories — Career, Health + Fitness, Family + Friends, Personal — to organize your goals into specific action points.
Career is the space housing your work and creative energy. What is an active statement you can write down that encompasses what you hope to accomplish in this aspect of your life this season?
Health + Fitness is the representation of movement, play and adventure. What do you want to do more of to feed your soul? What changes have you wanted to make in your health and fitness routine? Start the sentence with “I will” or “I am” not “I want to” or “I should.”
Family + Friends is your community. How do you want to better serve the people you love in your life? How can you be more mindful in your relationships?
Personal is the realm of your heart and spirit. After sorting through all the above categories, what remains in your heart that you want to nourish and allot more attention to? What is something you’re seeking that makes you more of who you are?
Connect
Now it’s time to connect your core values to each active statement in the four categories. Is your core value of balance present in your Health + Fitness goal? Is your core value of collaboration embedded in your career goals?
This new season offers bounty in harvest and invites transformation, and it’s time to embrace these qualities in your goals, too.
